RadReach
We have made a strong commitment to addressing inequality and improving inclusivity for the benefit of our Fellows, members and patients.
Built on the three pillars of mentorship, advocacy, and professional development RadReach seeks to foster greater diversity and equity into our faculties, whilst offering long-term support throughout training.
Our mentoring scheme, which started in 2021, offers opportunities for final year medical students and foundation year doctors from a widening participation background. In partnership with a mentor of your choice, you will receive impartial advice and guidance alongside a programme of webinars to help with your future.
Feedback from mentees and mentors:
“I've just accepted an offer for a radiology training post in my region! I can't thank you both enough for empowering me and getting me here. Your help with interview prep
and your guidance over the past few months has been invaluable in getting me where I never thought I'd even come close to.”“When I first came across the RadReach initiative, my initial thoughts were
'Yes! Finally! I want to be part of that!”“It was a real privilege to be a mentor as part of the scheme during its pilot year. Journeying alongside a motivated and keen junior doctor who aspired to join the radiology workforce was an eye-opening opportunity for me as a mentor. The year of mentoring taught me various things about myself as a person and mentor, and highlighted gaps in my own understanding of the differing challenges and barriers applicants face when pursuing a career in Clinical Radiology specifically.”
