Completing training (CCT)

To receive a certificate of completion of training (CCT), doctors must submit an application to both the RCR and the GMC within 12 months of their training completion date.

Any applications received later than this will not be eligible for CCT and applicants will be required to use the CESR route to apply directly to the GMC if they wish to be entered on the Specialist Register.

Entry to the Specialist Register is required in order to take up appointment in any fixed term, honorary or substantive consultant post in the NHS, although specialist registration is not a legal requirement for these posts in foundation trusts.

Please apply for your CCT through the Risr/advance e-portfolio - see below for user guides.You must have received an ARCP outcome 6 in order for the RCR to process your application.

Each month, a number of applications for CCT cannot be processed because they are not fully completed or ARCP forms are incomplete or contain incorrect information.  Please take the time to read and comply with the following advice as this will assist us to quickly process your entry to the Specialist Register.
