Completing training (CCT)
Any applications received later than this will not be eligible for CCT and applicants will be required to use the CESR route to apply directly to the GMC if they wish to be entered on the Specialist Register.
Entry to the Specialist Register is required in order to take up appointment in any fixed term, honorary or substantive consultant post in the NHS, although specialist registration is not a legal requirement for these posts in foundation trusts.

Please apply for your CCT through the Risr/advance e-portfolio - see below for user guides.You must have received an ARCP outcome 6 in order for the RCR to process your application.
Notes for completion of the application process
Each month, a number of applications for CCT cannot be processed because they are not fully completed or ARCP forms are incomplete or contain incorrect information. Please take the time to read and comply with the following advice as this will assist us to quickly process your entry to the Specialist Register.
- The College will upload to GMC Connect a list of names of eligible trainees up to 3 months in advance of their CCT date.
- A CCT application link will be sent, by email, to trainees by the Training Team.
- GMC will contact trainees to invite them to complete an online application in parallel with their RCR application
- You should apply to the RCR for recommendation for CCT through the Risr/advance e-portfolio
- Once your application through the e-portfolio has been received, the RCR will use the information recorded in your e-portfolio to confirm that you are eligible for CCT. Once this is confirmed, the RCR will make a recommendation to the GMC that you are eligible for a CCT and entry to the Specialist Register
- Provided that the GMC approves the recommendation it will send you your CCT and information about how to apply for entry to its Specialist Register.
- In order to allow time for all stages of the process, your completed applications need to be received by the relevant organisations as soon as possible. Do not delay starting the application process until you have been appointed to a consultant post.

You should check that all of your ARCP forms are available on your e-portfolio, and that the details shown on all forms are correct. You should contact your TPD to rectify any errors on your ARCP form before completing the CCT request form through the Risr/advance e-portfolio.
The training team will check your time in training as part of the application process, please ensure your e-portfolio is up to date an correctly shows all of your training posts and time out of training. Please ensure that all out of programme activity permission paperwork has been received by the RCR.
